Privacy Policy for PDFlow
Last Updated: October 18, 2025
PDFlow ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, PDFlow (the "App").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
The PDFlow App provides PDF manipulation tools. To perform these functions, the App requires processing your files on our secure backend servers.
- Files You Upload: When using features requiring server-side processing (such as Merge PDF, Split PDF, Remove Pages, Extract Pages, Convert to PDF from Image/Word/PowerPoint/Excel, Add Watermark, Add Page Numbers, Rotate PDF), you explicitly initiate the upload of your selected files (PDFs, images, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, etc.) from your device to our servers. These files are solely used for the requested operation.
- Technical & Usage Data (Non-Personal): We may automatically collect information to improve app performance and user experience. This includes:
- Device Information: Generic device type (e.g., phone, tablet), operating system version.
- App Usage: App version, features used (e.g., "Merge tool used"), session duration, crash reports, and performance data. This data is aggregated and anonymized; it cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Network Status: To check for internet connectivity required for server operations.
- We Do Not Collect Personal Information: We do not collect or store any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) like your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or device account information. The App does not require user accounts or logins.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly to provide and improve the App's functionality:
- File Processing: Uploaded files are processed on our backend servers only to perform the specific PDF operation you selected (e.g., merging, converting, watermarking). The processed file is then made available for you to download.
- Temporary Storage: Files are stored temporarily on our servers only for the duration required to complete the processing and allow for download.
- Service Improvement: Aggregated, anonymous usage data helps us understand feature popularity, diagnose technical issues, optimize performance, and improve the overall App experience.
3. Data Storage, Security, and Deletion
- Strict Deletion Policy: All uploaded files (original and processed versions) are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 10 minutes after the processing task is completed or fails. We do not retain user files beyond this short processing window. This is fundamental to our privacy commitment.
- Data Security: We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures (like encryption during transit using HTTPS) to protect your files while they are temporarily on our servers for processing. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Users upload files at their own discretion.
- Processing Location: File processing occurs on our secure backend servers.
4. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your uploaded files or any collected anonymous usage data with third parties for marketing or other unrelated purposes.
- Service Provision: File data is only accessed by our backend system as necessary to perform the requested PDF operation.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement.
- Protect the security or integrity of our Service.
- Exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of PDFlow, our users, or others.
5. Children's Privacy
The PDFlow App is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). Because we do not collect PII, the App is compliant with laws like the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Parents concerned about their child's use of the app can contact us.
6. Third-Party Services
The App currently does not integrate third-party services that would collect data through our App (e.g., third-party analytics, ad networks). If this changes, this section will be updated. The App may contain links to external websites; this policy does not cover those external sites.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the App after changes signifies your acceptance of the revised policy.
